Xiaomi has announced the arrival in Italy of the Mi TV P1 series. It is composed of four models: 32 ″, 43 ″, 50 ″, and 55 ″ . All panels are LED backlit LCDs with a 50 / 60Hz refresh rate and 178 ° viewing angle. The design features thin edges on three of the four sides (the bottom is an exception). The rest of the specifications vary depending on the cut chosen. The 32 ″ is equipped with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and an 8-bit panel . The audio section consists of two tweeters and two woofers with an output of 5 W x 2. They are supportedDolby Audio and DTS-HD .
The Smart TV platform is Android TV 9 with built-in Chromecast and Google Assistant, 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB for storage. The equipment includes compatibility with Miracast , the pre-installed Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube applications and the ability to interact with the TV via Alexa after connecting an external speaker. Connectivity provides Bluetooth 5.0 , 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, a 100 Mbps Ethernet port, a CI + slot, two USB 2.0 ports and two HDMI ports, one of which with ARC, the audio return channel. The remote control communicates via Bluetooth and is equipped with a microphone.
From 43 ″ up the resolution is always Ultra HD with 10-bit panels obtained through a native 8-bit depth and FRC (here we explain in detail what it is). Unlike 32 ″ it is possible to play HDR videos in HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats (HLG is not mentioned but it could be an oversight ). There is also motion compensation which enhances moving images via MEMC (Motion Estimation Motion Compensation). The audio section has the same characteristics as the lower cut but increases the power bringing it to 10 W x 2.
For the “smart” part we find Android TV 10 with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of ROM . Voice interaction with the Google assistant can also be exploited in ” hands-free ” mode thanks to the microphones integrated into the TV . A special selector allows you to completely disable them to protect privacy. Available connections include two HDMI 2.0 inputs and one HDMI 2.1 with eARC , the advanced audio return channel.
The 50 ″ and 55 ″ further improve some features. The ability to cover 85% of the NTSC color space is declared and the HDR10 + format , the version of HDR10 with dynamic metadata (such as Dolby Vision), is added. The rest of the specs are in common with the 43 ″.
